Eco-Labels |
ECOPORIO's guidelines in order to choose the products of its assortment are the following:
1. Products with Ecolabels
In comparison to conventional products, ecolabelled products must undergo numerous strict criteria, feature low energy requirements and low content of harmful substances, and generate no dangerous waste or emissions. The latter Ecolabels also consider the effects of the product during its entire life cycle.

2. Products with official organic, ecological, FSC or PEFC certifications
In case no Ecolabel exists for a particular group of products, these are certified by alternative accredited institutions. For example, there is no Ecolabel for food and beverages. In situations such this, ECOPORIO resorts to official certifications for organic and ecological goods, as Austria Bio Garantie (food and beverages), FSC and PEFC (wood and sustainable forest management) which also follow strict criteria. However, unlike the previous four Ecolabels these certifications do not contemplate the whole life cycle of the product.

3. Complementary products
There are products awarded Ecolabels that cannot be used independently. For example, ecolabelled liquid soaps need a matching ecolabelled dispenser, or one certified according to ecological criteria. For this reason, ECOPORIO has also listed a range of complementary products such as refillable soap dispensers. The ECOPORIO Team has made sure all products, materials and sources are harmless and their usage will benefit the environment.
